Moss Walk

Participants learn about the ecology and beautiful anatomy of mosses on a guided walk (usually <2 miles) as they observe and handle moss growing along trails in a natural area using hand lenses (provided) and their smart phones.

Choose from 1 - 4 hr programs catered to children, teens, adults, naturalists, or botanists (etc.).

Moss Workshop

Single or multi-day workshop where participants learn about moss ecology and diversity in the field and in the classroom.

Discovering the beautiful, hidden world of moss is aided with hand lenses and microscopes (provided).

Bryophyte Identification

Send specimens needing identification to species. Rate is hourly.

Deliverables include a photo set showing key features used in ID. See examples on the Moss Montages page!

Bryophyte Diversity Assessment

Discover what bryophytes live in your natural area! Deliverables include a

(1) species checklist of common (or common and rare) species, and

(2) a macro photo collection made in iNaturalist for you and your guests to learn the bryophyte diversity in your natural area!
